  1. Dr. Youn being a clever grifter here. Knows enough to not be caught in an outright lie, but let’s logic our way through this.
    1) Hydrolyzed collagen is broken into peptides and amino acids
    2) Vegan collagen is amino acids + vitamin C
    3) Vegan collagen isn’t collagen…. weird point to make after pointing out that hydrolyzed collagen is also not whole collagen, but broken down into amino acids and peptides, and you omit that the body is going to further break down those peptides into amino acids. So if we’re going to be logically consistent here, either 1) hydrolyzed collagen isn’t collagen, or 2) vegan collagen is collagen. I would lean towards 1) neither vegan collagen, nor hydrolyzed collagen are still collagen. They’re both amino acid soup.

    4) You claim that taking the hydrolyzed collagen is shown to be beneficial in studies… but so is taking vitamin C and amino acids… ok. Suppose I give you a freebie and don’t even scrutinize those studies. I still would state that they may be using an inappropriate control for the statement you’re tying to imply without saying… That is, I assume that they used either nothing or a placebo as control. But what is very likely here is that people may simply not be getting enough amino acids in their normal diet, so collagen specifically should be tested against simple protein supplementation and vitamin C. Because like the doctors you wierdly deride as traditional would say… this stuff is just going to be broken down into amino acids. I think if they were being careful with their words they wouldn’t say collagen supplementation has no benefit, but that it has no benefit for someone that already has adequate amino acid intake. A complete protein supplement will give you literally everything a collagen supplement would AND MORE.
