********CRITIQUES, RULES, AND NOTES********

Be aware of the following rules before posting comments:
– Please do not post summaries of the video in the comments – it damages retention on the video and YouTube is less likely to promote it (these videos cost me a lot of money to produce).

Critiques of my work are welcome! Please be aware of the following notes & rules before submitting critique:

Be mindful that this content is not all encompassing on the subject at hand and is self-limited for brevity to reach a wider audience. Also, be aware that I receive hundreds of YouTube comments per day, so the only way your critique can be considered is if you follow the steps outlined below. Finally, YouTube auto-deletes links, so I do not see most comments with links attached.

RULES:
If your comment is rude, you will be banned.
If your comment is not about the studies/topics at hand (i.e. extending to other outcomes not discussed) or offers critique with no scientific basis, it is unlikely to receive a response.

If you can follow these rules, I will try to address your critique and if there is merit, I will add an AMENDMENT to the content in question and pin it so everyone can see it (thank you!).

  1. For those still confused: “A single gram” is 1 gram, “multiple grams” is anything at or above 2 grams total, based on the current literature I’ve seen. 🙂

  2. A good thing with supplements is not to take them all year round. Also I think that looking for nutriments in food before taking a supplement is something to consider, even if it is not always possible .For omegas3 ,I eat sardines, mackerel, and code liver.

  3. I took the leap and tried it only about 4 times over a period of different days everytime I would have heart pain so didn’t really associate it with pills because I did not take it daily so I tried again to see if I was just overthinking it , but no I was not it definitely caused heart pain like the whole day . Stopped taking and it stopped so not for me and I only took one and never constantly or daily just random ..On to next guinea pig experiment of a good health for me idea. No thank you

  4. I think you should replace the term “Omega 3’s” used throughout this video, with specifically “Omega 3 DHA”. DHA is the only form of Omega 3 that causes AFIB. ALA, SDA, ETA, EPA and DPA do not and cannot cause membrane fluidity. DHA uniquely does this. This is why the heart is one of the few tissues that does not convert precursors to DHA, for this reason. This is also why the body does not convert much ALA to (free or TAG) DHA in the bloodstream so it will not negatively affect the heart.

So where and how does the body make DHA safely to prevent AFIB?
The human body mostly converts ALA to LPC-DHA in the Liver. DHA bound to LPC does not negatively affect the heart, yet increases its uptake into the brain. LPC-DHA is also protected against oxidation, whereas free DHA is readily and easily oxidized and can increase LDL oxidation in the blood, a known atherogenic pathway.

By consuming preformed DHA, we override this elegant endogenously regulated system that converts only specific forms of n3’s at specific amounts, in specific tissues/organs, for specific reasons.
The human body has its reasons for this entire process and controls for it carefully in real time. This is why the body is designed for precursor nutrition, not preformed nutrients. We see this over and over again, with Vitamin A, Heme Iron and Omega 3s – precursors are safe, whereas preforrmed versions can cause human health problems.

  5. 2017 Study: Atrial fibrillation and the risk for myocardial infarction, all-cause mortality and heart failure: A systematic review and meta-analysis

AFIB increases heart attack risk by 63%

2011 Study: Atrial fibrillation and incidence of dementia: a systematic review and meta-analysis

AFIB increases Dementia risk by 200%
